Mental Health First Aid (Youth)
June 12 @ 5:00 am - 9:00 amFree
Mental Health First Aid for Youth is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
The training is FREE and available to any community member interacting with Elk Grove youth.
*** TRAINING IS JUNE 12TH FROM 12:00-4:00PM AND JUNE 14TH FROM 12:00-4:00PM. YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS TO BE CERTIFIED ***
