Face2Face Meets with EGUSD Staff

Face2Face Youth Group co-founders Mark and Margaret (organization Director and Chief Executive Officer, respectively) are ready for their coffee meeting with two amazing ladies from the school district.

We had a great meeting today with the Administrator of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) and Youth Development Program Manager for the Elk Grove Unified School District.

We talked about the vision for Face2Face Youth Group and how the District and Face2Face might work together to bring our message and events to students.

Both ladies were very excited to learn about our program and shared with us the district’s needs in terms of program availability in the schools. We’re looking forward to our next chat and we’re exploring the ideas that were discussed at our ‬meeting.

Face2Face Youth Group promotional video

Face2Face Youth Group is a group for parents of pre-teens and early teens (ages 10-14) looking for “offline” social activities and events for their kids. Let’s get our kids together, have fun, and encourage them to interact the “old-fashioned way,” Face2Face!

Video Transcript

Back in the olden days, things were simpler. Our phones were connected to the wall. Televisions were huge, you had to turn a knob to change the channel, and if you missed a program, you missed it.

Today, just about every young person owns or has access to a cell phone. That’s like having a mini TV, radio, and computer that fits in their pocket. All kinds of information, pictures, songs and videos are literally at their fingertips. And text messaging is now the preferred method of communicating for teens.

Technology has brought people together like never before, and yet we’re losing the ability to communicate face-to-face.

That’s where we come in.

Face2Face Youth Group is for parents of preteens and teens. We provide “offline” activities and events designed to get your kids interacting with other kids the old-fashioned way—Face2Face! For more information, visit our website at Face2FaceYouthGroup.com.

Our first event in 2018 is our Speed Friendship Interview event, scheduled for January 27, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Elk Grove Library.

This free event is designed to get kids talking to each other “Face2Face” and to encourage them to meet new friends. During a round, each person (one at a time) tells the other four facts about themselves: Name, Favorite Food, Favorite Book or Movie, and One other interesting fact about them.

For more information and to register for this free event, please visit https://face2face.ticketleap.com/sfi/

Our second event, scheduled for February 25, from 2:00 pm to 4 pm, is a funtastic round of glo-in-the-dark mini golf, at Cali Glo Indoor Mini Golf in Elk Grove! Cali Glo Indoor Mini Golf features 18 challenging glow-in-the-dark holes. Each hole takes you on the ultimate road trip stopping at all your favorite California landmarks!
